'Incrementum’

$4,400.00

By Maya Soleil Silva

Acrylic, recycled tissue paper, secondhand beads, repurposed fibers on Canvas, 24”x 36”

‘Incrementum’ or ‘growth’  began as an experimental piece. I wanted to play with sculpting various types of paper and gesso. Once I realized that it was moldable, that is when everything started to fall into place. This piece quickly became a labor of love. As soon as I finished the color wash, it was clear that it needed the depth of beadwork. This piece is formed in organic form exploration, like a lot of my work, I wanted it to reflect elements that can be seen in nature.
