Acrylic, secondhand fabrics, secondhand beads on Canvas, 24”x36”
This piece was created with the inspiration of a living plant wall in mind. I drew inspiration from the beauty and vivaciousness of a living breathing plant wall and then I made it my own. This piece was painted then sculpted with multiple layers of upcycled lace and black fabrics. I then spent over one hundred hours hand sewing beads onto the canvas. Through this process, the paint, fabric, and beadwork found symbiosis much like how a plant wall thrives in symbiosis.
